Requirements for Comments

Comments must be at least 5 full lines long.

WS265.blogspot.com is a platform for not only discussion among feminist students and allies, but for reaching (open, not hateful) students who may not agree with many feminist points of view. Comment threads are a big part of what facilitates this dialogue between feminists and skeptics.

I moderate comments because I want to leave space for dialogue and questions, but also want to prevent the comment threads from getting derailed or offending anyone. I want our common conversations to be as productive and useful as possible.

All comments must include a direct response to the original post and link. Do not simply repeat what previous commenters have said, but you can say you agree with other commenters if you discuss why.

YOU MUST RESPOND NOT JUST TO THE REPORTING OF NEWS, BUT TO THE BLOGGERS' ANALYSIS OF THE NEWS AS WELL. Do you agree with the Blogger? Why or why not?

When you disagree:
Please feel free to voice disagreements, but HOW you do so is important! Be polite and respectful. Before disagreeing, make sure your opinion is well-informed, meaning you have read the initial post and its link very carefully and have read the prior comments to that post as well.
What isn't allowed:
Comments that contain personal attacks, hate speech or offensive language will be deleted and their authors will not receive credit. Victim blaming is never allowed. Commenters who derail threads (i.e. choose not to discuss the subject of the original post or whose comments reveal a lack of familiarity with the thread of discussion) will not recieve credit. NO SARCASM. As the editor, I use my discretion in determining which comments meet the criteria for credit.
