Publisher's weekly omitted women from their top 10 book list, demonstrating that the traditional preference among critics for male creative writing continues to plague the media. Fortunately, other sources recognize women's creative writing.
This is very intriguing to me because I want to be a writer and woman writer to top that. I've spoken with literature professors at Western who find it important yet difficult to include anthologies that have equal [or even close to] male and female texts. It is good to hear that they take such issues into account though.
