  1. I think she is saying that the government and laws are trying to control people decisions on issues that should be a personal choice and not an issues or concern of the gorvernment. And that the govrnment will come up with any type of services to talk you out of doin something in order to not have to use taxpayers dollars to so. But i feel if youre paying your taxes and a citizen it should matter at all.

  2. I think Sorensen is trying to say that no one makes their own decisions. The government trys to control what everyone does. It is not fair that they say we have freedom but try to controle everything. This comic strip give good points of the things that the government trys to control.

  3. I believe that Sorensen is trying to bring to our attention that the government has more control over us than we miight think. There is a law to everything that we do whether we pay attention to it or not. The government has a way to either make us pay more for things or to convience us to do the opposite of what we really want to do at that time

I this comic strip, Sorensen is satirizing the conservative point of view. Conservative's values are old fashioned and damaging the world we live in. Sorensen is trying to say that this old view of the world will take us to the end of our lives and the world, in a very fatalistic way; but in a shorter term, our liberties will be reduced and our options limited.
I think she is trying to focus our attention into this issue so that we are not fooled and make the better decisions for us, our health and the future of the planet.

  5. Sorenson is basically saying that the government controls our lives. In all reality though, the people who pay taxes do because tax payers pay for everything. We need to make our own decisions and not be persuaded by the government to do certain things. Who cares what is popular or what everyone else is doing, because we are our own person and people can clearly make decisions for themselves.

  6. I think she is trying to say that no matter what the government is trying to make the decisions for you. In the abortion section it shows how the government wants to be able to control how or if you get an abortion. Also it shows that our government is money hungry so they want you to buy the cars that will spend more money on gas so they can tax it more. Altogether this comic is showing how the government is getting in everyones business and wont let them make there own decisions.

  7. I think that the author here is trying to point out that although to government isn't directly telling you that you shouldn't or can't do something, they definitely have their ways of imposing their own viewpoints on you whether you wanted it or not. She's doing this by poking fun at a conservative old-fashioned point of view. Although that was what was widely accepted in the past, our country is expanding it's point of view and Sorenson is suggesting that conservatives are stuck in old habits that are becoming out of date with today's modern society.

  8. I think what Sorenson is trying to say is that the U.S. government has control over us whether we realize it or not. It seems as though there are laws for just about everything. I find the fourth comment about the passport to be intriguing because it seems as though that is the opinion that our government has about our country today yet we are experiencing an economic crisis. Yes, this is a great country but people need to have the ability to experience other opportunities even if that means going to a different country or deciding whether or not to have an abortion. People should be allowed to have these opportunities because it's their right to do so.

  9. Sorensen brings awareness to real problems that pertain to restricting womens rights in a light and funny way. This comic strip is about a ridiculous law that states that women must seek counceling before going through wwith an abortion. It is taking away womens right over her own body and for what reason? Sorensen does a great job of shedding light on situations that no one else will talk about to bring awareness so women can be well educated enpugh to make their own decisions despite whatever our government imposes on us.

  10. She is bringing up the abortions in South Dakota, and the comic talks about people trying to talk you out of everything you do, wouldn't you rather stay in the U.S.? Why don't you get a Big Mac instead, they are making people sit through counseling on things that they already know what they want to do on..
